São Paulo – The lecture that the CEO of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, Michel Alaby, will give at the Federation of Industries of the State of Goiás (FIEG), in Goiânia, was postponed from August 24 to September 20 due to the executive’s trip abroad this week. The theme of the presentation will be “How to negotiate with the Arab countries.”
The event has registrations open and is designed for entrepreneurs from Goiás and from the country’s West-Central region as a whole. Alaby will presente general information about the 22 Arab countries, statistical data on these nations’ trade an economy, business opportunities and tips on negotiations with Arab entrepreneurs.
According to the executive, the focus will be the agroindustry, which is very strong in Goiás, but he also plans to talk about opportunities in other sectors, such as pharmaceuticals, which also play a significant role in the state.
Goiás’ exports to the Arab countries totaled USD 234.7 million from January to July of this year. The main products shipped were poultry, sugar, beef, soy and maize. The data is from the Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services (MDIC). Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Algeria are the main markets.
On the other hand, Goiás imported USD 67.2 million in products from the Arab nations in the same period. The main items bought were fertilizers, with Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Morocco, Oman, Bahrain, Egypt and Kuwait as suppliers.
