São Paulo – The Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Relations informed today (14th) that the Brazilian government has decided to donate US$ 500,000 to the 2010 Iraq Humanitarian Action Plan of the United Nations.
According to a statement issued by the Brazilian foreign ministry (Itamaraty), the funds will be transferred to the World Food Programme (US$ 250,000), to the United Nations Children’s Fund (US$ 100,000), to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (US$ 100,000) and to the International Organization for Migration (US$ 50,000).
Also according to the statement, the donation will be used for reforming and building schools, and improving school meals in the Arab country.
