São Paulo – Brazil will be present at the 21st Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS 2025) to be held from September 17 to 20 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Center (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur. The Malaysian Embassy’s Trade Office in São Paulo (MATRADE São Paulo) shared information about the fair, highlighting its size and the Brazilian participation.
According to the office, MIHAS is organized by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and is recognized as the world’s largest marketplace for halal-certified and value-added products and services, bringing together buyers and sellers from over 90 countries.

Brazilian companies participate in MIHAS as exhibitors. MATRADE São Paulo highlights that this year they will also take part in the fair’s International Sourcing Program (INSP), a business platform covering more than 14 industrial clusters, from food and beverages and packaging to production and logistics technologies.
According to MATRADE São Paulo, Brazil’s presence reflects the country’s growing adoption of halal standards, driven by increased demand for quality assurance, product traceability, and sustainable supply. Brazilian participation is organized by the Halal do Brasil project, spearheaded by the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil). Spots are still available for Brazilian companies interested in participating.
“MIHAS is where the world comes to witness the future of halal – a future built on trust, innovation, and uncompromising quality,” said Amirul Azman Ahmad, Trade Commissioner of MATRADE São Paulo, in the released material. According to him, MIHAS opens doors to new opportunities and strong partnerships. “We welcome more Brazilian companies to join this movement and experience first-hand how Malaysia is leading the global halal economy,” he added.
MATRADE São Paulo says it works with influential organizations in Brazil’s halal market, such as certification bodies CDIAL Halal and FAMBRAS Halal, as well as the ABCC, to raise awareness, create business links, and connect Brazilian exporters and importers with Malaysia’s halal ecosystem.
The 2024 edition of MIHAS generated MYR 4.3 billion (equivalent to USD 1.01 billion at the current conversion rate) and attracted over 43,000 visitors. This year, under the theme “Pinnacle of Halal Excellence,” the fair is expected to generate MYR 4.5 billion in business (USD 1.06 billion). In addition to driving high volumes of trade, the event highlights global halal consumption trends.
