São Paulo – The Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) will give a course in cashew farming to Brazilians and foreigners from November 14 to December 9 in Brasília, in the Federal District, and in Fortaleza, in the state of Ceará. Enrolments are open until next Friday, October 21.
The training will cover the cashew production process, postharvest and industrial processing. It is geared towards agronomists and food engineers from Brazil, African, Asian and Latin American countries. There are five openings for Brazilians and 25 for technicians from Angola, Bolivia, Cape Verde, Colombia, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe, Venezuela and East Timor.
The course is promoted by Embrapa Tropical Agroindustry, based in Fortaleza, the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (Jica). The costs will be covered by the Third Country Training Programme (TCTP).
