In an interview to ANBA, he stated that it is essential to simplify trips, through the creation of direct flights, or agreements between airlines. A study ordered by the Ministry of Tourism shows that national arrivals increased by 19.29%, and the international arrivals, by 16.15%. The main destinations in the country are the cities of Fortaleza, Natal, Porto Seguro and Maceió, all in the Northeast of Brazil, and the region of Serra Gaúcha, in the South. For the minister of Tourism, Walfrido Mares Guia, the increase throughout the year should be of 15%.
The programme Journeys for Tourism Development aims at identifying and promoting the main tourist attractions in the 67 cities of the state of São Paulo. Some US$ 40 million will be invested in infrastructure works in these cities and another US$ 4 million in publicity.

The hotel, which has already received the king of Morocco, may receive the group. The tourism sector fair, in which Brazil has a stand, began on Tuesday and ends today.
According to a study published this week, there was a 14% increase in the tourist flow when compared to 2003. Last year, foreigners spent US$ 3.22 billion in the country. Together the 50 main companies in the sector had revenues of approximately US$ 2.7 billion.
