The participation of the Arabs in the exports of Brazilian beef is only smaller than that of Russia and the European Union. Up to November, Brazil exported the equivalent to US$ 4.1 billion, and the value should reach US$ 4.45 billion by the end of the year, according to the president at the Brazilian Beef Industry and Exporters Association, Pratini de Moraes.
There was growth of 12.4% in comparison with the same month in 2006. The performance was influenced by sales of meats, grain, soy, tobacco and juices. In the whole of the year, the total exported reached US$ 53.7 billion, 18.76% more than in the same period in 2006.

Exports to the Arab country leaped from US$ 12,000 from January to October last year to US$ 133,000 in the same period of 2007. In total, the country has exported US$ 1.8 billion, an increase of 20.5% in comparison with the same period of 2006. This year, Brazil harvested 1.5 million tonnes of the product. The volume also includes a variety of sorghum that originated in Sudan. Brazilian farmers use the original Sudanese sorghum, and also a hybrid between it and sorghum bicolour. The result is a highly nutritious product for grazing.
The amount was recorded in October, when foreign sales of the Brazilian product saw a 59% increase in comparison with the same month of last year. A total of 313,000 tonnes were shipped, representing an increase of 21%. From January to October, the Middle East was the leading buyer.
