Cheese bread, guava, juice and fruit jams are some of the genuinely Brazilian products selected for the Ethnic Brazil Project to be promoted abroad. Planned by the Brazilian Association of Exporters and Importers of Food and Beverages (ABBA), with the support of the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency, the project will have its first actions in October. The Arab countries are among the list of potential importers.

Janimar, a garment manufacturer from the southernmost Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul, is attracting the attention of the Brazilian market through the production of underwear made out of bamboo fibre. The articles are ecologically correct, as the plants take less time to grow than do other kinds of trees out of which viscose is made. Next year, Janimar intends to seek buyers for the product among the Arab nations.

Santo Antônio Egg Farm, from the southeastern Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, is doubling exports to a food industry in Jebel Ali, in the United Arab Emirates, this month. Approximately 1.8 million eggs will be shipped. The Arab country is the main destination for company exports.

The company, based in the southern Brazilian state of Santa Catarina, exported 24 packing machines and 14 baling machines to a sugar plant under construction in the Arab country. Now, it seeks a local partner to establish a representation and technical assistance office in Egypt. The Arab market will be the focus of Raumak for 2008.

Brazilian manufacturer wants to conquer Arab market with the exclusive features of its products. It aims to export from luxury shoes made of special crocodile, gator and ostrich leather to industrial shoes, such as safety boots. The company already exports 90% of its production to 30 different countries.

The state-owned company will build two alcohol pipes by 2010. One of the enterprises is going to link the city of Senador Canhedo, in the state of Goiás (MW), to the port of São Sebastião, in the state of São Paulo (SE). The second pipe, which is still at an early study phase, should connect Campo Grande, in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul (MW), to the Port of Paranaguá, in the state of Paraná (S).
