São Paulo – This Wednesday (13th), the Brazilian Poultry Union (Ubabef, in the Portuguese acronym) announced that egg exports fetched revenues of US$ 19.6 million in the first five months of 2012, an increase of nearly 60% compared with the same period of last year.
A total of 12,431 tonnes of raw eggs were shipped, up 113% compared with the same period of 2011. Processed egg exports reached 441 tonnes, down 60% using the same basis of comparison.
