Revenues of micro and small companies in São Paulo increased in the first quarter, compared with the same period of 2009. The information was disclosed by the Micro and Small Business Support Service.

Data disclosed today by Food Supply Company and Geography and Statistics Institute forecast the country’s largest crop. The former estimates 146.81 million tonnes, and the latter, 145.9 million.

Industrial cooperative Cocamar, based in the state of Paraná, wants to increase its exports by 44% this year. The fruit juice segment is the bet, and the Middle East is a priority market.

Brazil exported the equivalent of US$ 552 million in the first four months of the year. In April, foreign sales totalled US$ 159 million, representing growth of 98.75%.

The sector posted US$ 9.5 billion in revenues in the first quarter, being US$ 4.1 billion in March alone, the best result ever for the month. Exports, however, dropped by 4.4%.

Vale, BNDES, Funcef and Petros will establish a US$ 344 million fund. The aim is to recover 450,000 hectares in the Amazon. Companies seek partners to speed up the project and Arabs are interested.
