São Paulo – Libya has called for technical assistance from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), according to an announcement on Saturday (11) by the president of the Soma Charkrovarti institution. The news was published in African news agency Panapress.
"Although Libya is not a member of the bank, it is interested in technical cooperation with the European banking institution and requested help for technical support,” said the head of the Central Bank of Libya, Sadek Omar al-Kabir, who participated in meetings with Istambul bank, in Turkey.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has 64% of its capital in the bands of the European investment Bank and was created in 1991 to help establish market economies and democracies. The institution promotes financing to banks, factories, companies and also works in public capital to support privatisations, company restructuring and improvement of municipal services.
