São Paulo – Machinery exports from Brazil increased by 55% in March from February and by 14.5% year-on-year in March, the Brazilian Machinery and Equipment Industry Association (Abimaq) reported this Wednesday (26). Export revenue reached USD 945 million.
In the first quarter of the year, capital goods exports from Brazil fetched USD 1.9 billion, up 4.3% from Q1 2016. However, since machinery imports to Brazil far outweigh exports, the country registered a deficit in capital goods trade both in March alone and in Q1 as a whole.
