Casablanca – Forty new air routes will be launched between Morocco and the main source markets of tourists that visit the country during the Summer season in the North Hemisphere on 2019, according to Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT, acronym in French). Information are from the news agency Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP).
In addition to the more than 1,200 currently available, there will be 85 new flights per week, which represents 456,685 additional seats, according to the body.
According to ONMT, this shows Morocco attractiveness for its main tourism markets such as France, Spain and Germany, as well as from other countries, such as Turkey and Italy. New airways will also connect Morocco with Greece, Belgic, Austria, Hungary and Portugal.
The city in Morocco that will receive more flights is Marrakesh with 19 new connections, followed by Tangier, with six, and Fès (photo), with five. Tétouan in the North, Agadir, Ouarzazate and Dakhla in the South will also receive new air routes.
The flights will be created by eight airlines: Ryanair (Ireland), Easy Jet (UK), Turkish Airlines (Turkey), Air Arabia (UAE), Vueling Airlines (Spain), Transavia (Netherlands), Volotea (Spain), Condor (Germany).
In Brazil, Royal Air Maroc operates direct flights from São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro to Casablanca.
