São Paulo – Petrobras Biofuel attained a record high in daily biodiesel output on September 29 at two million litres. The volume originated from three proprietary plants and two plants on which the company owns stakes, according to information released by the company itself. The previous daily output record had been set on September 1st, at 1.93 million litres.
The company also set a quarterly sales record in the first quarter of 2012, at 145 million litres. The previous quarterly sales record dated from the last quarter of 2011, in which the company sold 111.2 million litres.
Petrobras is the leading oil industry company in Brazil. It owns plants in Candeias, in the state of Bahia, Quixadá, in the state of Ceará, and Montes Carlos, in the state of Minas Gerais. The company also holds stakes in two plants, in partnership with companies BSBios, one located in Marialva, in the state of Paraná, and the other in Passo Fundo, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The plants have a combined capacity of 721.4 million litres per year.
