São Paulo – Randon Group, which makes lorry trailers, railway wagons and auto parts, had revenues of R$ 1.03 billion (US$ 481 million at current exchange rates) in the first half of this year, according to figures supplied by the company. The figure was 5.4% more than the performance from January to June 2005.
According to Randon, the performance was due to the purchase of highway and railway implements on the domestic industry and also to the increase in prices and to exports to South America, Africa and the Middle East.
Total gross revenues in the first quarter reached R$ 1.45 billion (US$ 677 million), a reduction of 0.8% when compared to the same period in 2005. Consolidated net profits totalled R$ 61.3 million (US$ 28.6 million), a result 10.1% lower than that registered between January and June last year.
