São Paulo – The Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex) will inaugurate tomorrow (7th) a service unit in São Paulo. The agency’s objective is to increase the level of information of the companies interested in exporting.
The initiative has support from the National Confederation of Industries (CNI), from state-level industry federations, and from the International Business Centres (CINs).
The unit will be located at the head office of the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp). There, companies will have access to information on business opportunities and will be able to take part in joint projects by the CNI and the Apex, in addition to having access to data from surveys and market prospecting actions, and training on how to participate in the Industrial Export Extension Project (PEIEx), among other matters.
The Apex intends to establish three service units in all Brazilian states before the end of the first half of 2010. On Tuesday, a unit will be inaugurated in the state of Goiás, and in January next year, units will open in Mato Grosso do Sul, Pernambuco and Amazonas. The states of Ceará, Rio Grande do Sul, Minas Gerais, Paraná and Santa Catarina already have service units.
“The aim of our service units is to bring Brazilian companies closer to foreign trade, be theey non-exporting enterprises or beginner exporters,” said the Apex chairman, Alessandro Teixeira. All of the state-level units will be at the local industry federations.
