São Paulo – Meetings between Brazilian entrepreneurs and potential international clients at the World of Coffee Dubai trade fair in the United Arab Emirates could generate up to USD 9.6 million in business over the next 12 months. Ten farmers are in the emirate this week through the Agro.BR project, an initiative by Brazil’s National Confederation of Agriculture (CNA) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) to promote Brazilian agribusiness products abroad.
According to information released by the CNA, over the three days of the fair Brazilian entrepreneurs visited the exhibition, identified potential partners, and took part in B2B meetings.
The CNA’s Director of Trade Promotion, Rodrigo da Matta, was quoted as saying in the statement that these international appointments were a way to connect producers with coffee processing chain clients in the UAE. CNA International Relations Advisor Rosi Bandera noted that Dubai has many coffee shops and is at the forefront of cultural trends, thus creating opportunities for Brazil in the sector.
The World of Coffee Dubai fair wrapped up on Wednesday, but the group will remain in the UAE until Friday (14) for technical visits to Grandmother Coffee Roastery and Nightjar Coffee Roasters, the Experience Lab by Nuova Simonelli and Victoria Arduino, and the DMCC Coffee Centre, a local commodities exchange. They will also attend a coffee tasting session at Roasteria, a coffee processor in the UAE.
