For the second article in the series about Brazilian fashion, ANBA tells a little of the history of stylists such as Fause Haten and Fernando Aidar. Fause is the son of Arabs, Aidar is a great grandson. They are part of the team of stylists responsible for creating the best in fashion in Brazil. Fause exports to many countries, amongst them Lebanon, place where his parents were born.

According to a research by the Brazilian Institute for Geography and Statistics, the Gross Domestic Product increased by 3.4% during the first six months this year. The industry advanced 4.4%. If taken into consideration only the second quarter, the growth of the industrial sector was of 5.5%. Mineral extraction was one of the top responsible for the result. The study shows that investments in the productive sector are also being made.

The region represents 23% of Brazilian production of wines and is one of the favourite habitats of grapes. There, the fruit grows with help from a strong ally: the dry climate. In the São Francisco Valley it almost never rains. The grapes grow practically all year round and without the risk of cracking or going sour. In spite of the grape growing industry being recent, the Valley already produces wines that have been awarded international prizes.

The second article of the series shows how irrigated fruit growing improved the region of the Valley of the São Francisco River, in the Northeast of Brazil. Revenues with internal and external mango and grapes sales transformed the cities of Petrolina and Juazeiro into real financial-economic centres of the Northeast of Brazil. One of the reasons: the fruits increased the income of the population in general – from the producers to the rural workers.

The Cosmetics Exports Group of the State of Minas Gerais, created by the Brazilian Association of Toiletries, Perfumes & Cosmetics Industries and the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service, has just settled the plan for nine micro and small sized companies to be prepared to start exporting.
