São Paulo – The Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex) is going to promote Brazil Trade Middle East, an event consisting of business roundtables that will bring together up to 30 trading and exporting companies, representing over 100 Brazilian companies from different segments, in Dubai, from May 9th to 11th.
Participants in the food, beverages, construction, construction material, machinery, furniture, decoration and auto parts sectors will have a chance to meet with buyers from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon.
The Apex’s project manager Maurício Manfré claims that the agency has hired a consultancy firm based in Dubai (which has branches in the countries mentioned above) that is seeking buyers interested in negotiating with the companies that have already enrolled.
The executive explains that this is the second edition of the event, which took place for the first time in South Africa in 2009. On that occasion, the companies closed deals worth US$ 4.3 million, plus US$ 40 million in future deals, according to estimates made by the Brazilian businessmen themselves. According to Manfré, the agency should promote a third edition before the year ends, in Southeast Asia. “We are following the route of target-markets,” he stated.
Manfré also said the sectors that were selected to participate in the Brazil Trade event in Dubai were pointed out by the Apex’s commercial intelligence department as having the greatest chance of doing business in the Middle East.
As for the buyers sought by the consultancy firm, they must meet the criteria that have been set regarding “purchases, export volume and willingness to work with Brazilian products,” claims Manfré.
According to the Apex’s manager, the agency is still screening the companies that are going to attend the event. The selection process will continue up until next Monday (29th). Interested companies must enlist in the Director of Brazilian Trading Companies (www.tradingsdobrasil.com.br). After enlisting in the directory, the company may enrol for the event.
