São Paulo – The National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) disclosed on Tuesday (5) that over 100 million passengers travelled by plane in the country or from the country in 2012. Of the 101.3 million, 92.2 million were on domestic flights and 9.1 million on international ones.
According to Anac, the volume of passengers transported in Brazil on airlines last year was 9.48% greater than in 2011, when civil aviation transported 92.5 million passengers. In comparison with 2011, last year, 304,700 more passengers travelled on international flights and 8.4 million more on domestic flights.
The Anac study takes into consideration passengers on regular and non-regular aviation (with no fixed time, destination or pre-determined price), paid, free and contemplated in mileage programs both from airports managed by the Brazilian Airport Infrastructure Company (Infraero), and from private ones, and between states or cities. International passengers were those who flew from Brazil on domestic and foreign airlines.
