São Paulo – Last week, Brazilian exports totalled to US$ 3.534 billion and imports, US$ 2.326 billion, resulting in a surplus of US$ 1.208 billion. The figures were disclosed today (8th) by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade.
There was growth of 17.9% in the daily export average, compared with May, and a reduction of 20.2% over June 2008. With regard to imports, there was a reduction of 0.3% over May, and of 38.4% in comparison with June last year.
The trade surplus recorded last week was the highest weekly surplus since the second week of September 2008, according to the ministry.
So far this year, exports have reached US$ 59.018 billion and imports, US$ 48.438 billion, resulting in a surplus US$ 10.58 billion.
