Brasilia – The surplus on Brazilian trade balance (exports minus imports) registered US$ 985 million last week, a reduction in 26,1% in relation to the surplus of the previous week, when the best surplus in all history of foreign trade was recorded, in the value of US$ 1.333 billion.
The reduction is the result of a drop in 9.47% in the rhythm of exports, as opposed to imports, which increased by 6.98% comparing the two weeks. The country sold US$ 2.426 billion (in relation to US$ 2.680 billion in the previous week) and bought the equivalent to US$ 1.441 billion (in relation to US$ 1.347 billion).
The trade surplus adds up to US$ 2.698 billion in the month and accumulates US$ 22.369 billion in the year – 34.10% more than in comparison to the surplus of US$ 16.681 billion registered in the same period of the previous year. In all, exports reached US$ 59.433 billion (23.8% more) and imports reached US$ 37.064 billion (18.4% more).
