São Paulo – Ten Brazilian companies that deal in foodstuffs, cosmetics, footwear, toiletry, and cleaning products have confirmed that they will be at the Brazilian Festival, a promotional action set to take place in Egypt. An undertaking of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, the event will see Brazilian companies exhibiting their items at the Hyper One hypermarket, as well as sitting in for matchmaking sessions with local importers. The festival will run from September 6 to 9.
The Brazilian goods will be on display in a 250 sqm area at a Hyper One outlet in Giza, in the vicinities of Cairo. The hypermarket has a 12,000 sqm area and serves some 14,000 customers a day.
“There will also be two days’ worth of matchmaking sessions at the hotel,” said Arab Chamber CEO Michel Alaby. The Chamber’s Government Relations manager Tamer Mansour added that approximately 40 Egyptian companies should be there. Mansour is currently in Egypt working out the schedule.
The event’s opening will be attended by the Brazilian ambassador in Cairo, Rui Amaral, and by Giza province governor-general Kamal Al Dally. There will be musical attractions and Brazilian snacks will be served.
Egypt is the third leading Arab buyer of Brazilian products so far this year, trailing only Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. It imported over USD 1 billion worth of goods from Brazil from January to July, according to numbers from the Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services. Food products make up the bulk of those purchases. For instance, Egypt is the second leading buyer of Brazilian beef in the world.
There’s still time for Brazilian companies wishing to participate. Find out more below.
