São Paulo – Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock launched the Passaporte Agro through its Secretariat of Commerce and International Relations to support Brazilian exporters in accessing newly opened international markets and helping them secure sales.
According to a statement from the ministry, the initiative will provide content such as guidelines for product registration in those markets, lists of potential buyers, customs procedures, and specific market information.
The ministry said the Passaporte Agro will be continuously updated as new markets are opened, aiming to reduce operational barriers and encourage companies—particularly those with less experience in international trade—to start exports in a structured and safe manner.
The tool is aligned with the guidelines of the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Carlos Fávaro, who has been intensifying efforts to expand and strengthen Brazil’s presence in over 300 markets opened in the past two years, according to the ministry. Initially, Passaporte Agro will be offered to associations representing the productive sectors involved in commercial openings.
Citing other initiatives to assist exporters, Minister Fávaro said the Passaporte Agro is a response to the demands of Brazil’s productive and export sectors, developed after a period of listening to key players in agribusiness. “With these tools, we not only open markets but ensure that exporters and producers have access to strategic information to leverage them efficiently and competitively, understanding the true scope of new commercial opportunities,” he said.
