The 1st Eastern and Asian Studies Meeting, at UNIFESP’s Guarulhos campus on November 7-8, will address the region’s history, conflicts and identity. Nicolás Avruj, who directed a documentary in Palestine and Israel, will be there.

Online magazine Revista Pessoa will release translated works by 12 writers, including Milton Hatoum, Raduan Nassar, Marcelo Maluf and Socorro Acioli next year, via a partnership involving Abu Dhabi’s Kalima Project for Translation and the Arab Chamber.

The Arabian Fest takes place this Sunday (21), simultaneously to the city’s popular handcraft fair, and offers the opportunity to Arab refugees to sell their products, such as typical handcraft items and food. Performances of Arab dances are also in the programme.

The mall Shopping Center 3, in São Paulo, will open a photo exhibition this Thursday (18) to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the country’s founder, Zayed bin Sultan Al Nayhan. The event was organized by the consulate general of the United Arab Emirates in São Paulo.
