The forecast was made yesterday by the minister of Tourism, Walfrido Mares Guia, based on the 28.3% increase in on international arrivals in the country in January. He spoke about this matter during the release of a study by the Ministry of Tourism, the Brazilian Tourism Institute and the Getúlio Vargas Foundation. The study shows that the tourism companies in Brazil had revenues of US$ 876.2 million in 2004.

Typical Brazilian dances, such as samba and frevo, will be presented at Global Village, an event to take place in the United Arab Emirates, during the greatest period of tourist attraction sales and promotions in the Middle East. Brazil will have a 70-square-metre space, where, from tomorrow to March 15, exhibitions will include photographs and videos of tourist points. The objective is to attract tourists from the region to Brazil.
