Brazilian sales to the Arab market totalled US$ 1.1 billion in July against US$ 883 million in the same month in 2009. Purchases of food made for Ramadan influenced the performance.

The market imports fashion, food and building material above the world average. The conclusion was drawn by a survey of the Arab Brazilian Chamber, which has published new data on its site.

From January to July, sales of the Brazilian product grew by 74% over the same period last year. The Confederation of Hides and Skins Industries expects to end the year with US$ 1.7 bn in exports.

The optimism of Brazilians increased in July for the third month in a row and reached 116.8 points. There was growth of 1.8% over June. The basis is 100 points, above which expectations are positive.
