São Paulo – Brazilian coffee exports totalled US$ 3.5 billion from January to November, representing an increase of 19.7% over the same period of last year. A total of 25.47 million bags were shipped, a 3.7% growth compared with the same period of 2006. The data were disclosed today (5th) by the Brazilian Coffee Exporter Council (CeCafé).
The main export destinations for the Brazilian product were Germany, the United States, Italy, Japan and Belgium. The Port of Santos led shipments at 1.54 million bags of grain, followed by the port of Vitória, at 435,800 bags.
In November, the shipped volume decreased by 18% in comparison with the same month of 2006. However, revenues went from US$ 363 million to US$ 370 million, a growth of 2%.
