Brasília – Economic activity in Brazil picked up 1.04% in 2017 from 2016, according to the Economic Activity Index (IBC-Br) released this Monday (19) by the Brazilian Central Bank.
The indicator was created by the Central Bank in an attempt to approximate how the economy will behave. The official indicator is the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), to be released by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) in March.
In December, economic activity in Brazil climbed 1.41% from November, in its fourth straight month going up, as per seasonally-adjusted IBC-Br figures.
