Dubai – Processed egg products company Naturovos, out of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil just reached deals with a country in Asia and one in the Gulf during Gulfood, the food and beverage show taking place in Dubai. Naturovos is at the expo for the second time this year, this time with a stand in the pavilion of the Brazil Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).
On the market for 65 years, Naturovos has been producing and exporting liquid and processed eggs since 2005, and powdered eggs since 2010 – prior to that it used to sell only regular eggs. Liquid items available include liquid eggs, liquid whites, highly aerated liquid eggs, salted egg yolks, and sugar egg yolks. Powered items include whole powdered eggs, powdered yolks, powdered yolks with enzymes for making mayonnaise – the enzyme enables the product to withstand high temperatures – and highly aerated powdered whites, for beating and making meringue, among other purposes.
The company also provides custom egg formulas for the food industry. “Our clients get to choose the sugar or salt content,” said Naturovos Commercial Coordinator for Domestic and International Markets Luciano Hartmann. Naturovos supplies food service and catering companies.
Based in the city of Salvador do Sul, the company processes 2.5 million eggs a day. Last year, it shipped product to 15 different countries. “Our goal is to sell to 20 countries this year. We sold to nine in January alone,” said Hartmann. According to him, Naturovos is the biggest egg product exporter in Brazil.
At the Gulfood, the company is getting in touch with prospective clients from the UAE and other Arab countries – Naturovos’ biggest market, ahead of Asia and South America. “Right now, Arab countries take in 25% of our total exports,” said Hartmann.
According to him, the trade show has exceeded expectations and the company should be back next year. “I wasn’t expecting even 25% of what we saw. We got in touch with lots of people and we met key food industry players. It was some high-level networking with people who are here to actually make deals instead of just look around,” he said.
