São Paulo – The executive aviation market in the Middle East should double over the next ten years, according to estimates presented by the Market Intelligence vice president at Embraer, Cláudio Camelier, in a press conference during the Middle East Business Aviation (Meba) fair, in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. The information was published today (8) by newspaper Khaleej Times, from Dubai.
"The region has 343 jets in operation and another 300 are expected over the next 10 years," said the executive, according to the publication. The value of these aircraft should reach US$ 11 billion, said Camelier.
He added, still according to Khaleej Times, that Legacy jets made by the Brazilian company are the fourth main fleet in the region and are among the most successful.
During Meba, Embraer announced the delivery of executive jets to two companies in the region and the purchase of two aircraft by oil company Saudi Aramco, as well as the establishment of one more maintenance centre in Dubai.
Camelier also said that the global demand for business aircraft should reach 10,000 jets in the coming 10 years, evaluated at US$ 210 billion. The article by Khaleej Times also shows that Embraer participation in the sector was 17.2% in the third quarter of this year, as against 14% in 2009 and just 3.3% in 2008, demonstrating rapid growth.
