São Paulo – GDS, one of the leading shoe fairs in Europe, will start next Wednesday (14th) and should receive importers from all continents. The fair is a worldwide point of sale for shoes, and will feature 21 Brazilian companies as exhibitors, according to the Brazilian Association of Shoe Manufacturers (Abicalçados).
The fair will continue until March 16th in Düsseldorf, Germany. The presence of Brazilian brands counts on support from Brazilian Footwear, an export promotion program developed by Abicalçados in partnership with the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brazil).
Heitor Klein, the executive director at Abicalçados, claims that the Brazilian participation at the GDS extends beyond German borders, and highlights the participation of Middle Eastern importers. “The Arab countries are home to an important set of buyers for our exhibitors, hence the need to attend the GDS,” says Klein.
After having made approximately 500 contacts and closed over 130 deals with 42 different countries in the March 2011 edition, Brazilian companies are expecting a good event, according to a statement issued by Abicalçados.
