São Paulo – World Bank president Jim Yong Kim should visit Brazil from March 4th to 6th. The objective of the visit is to expand the institution’s strategic partnership with Brazil. This information was disclosed this week in a press statement by the organisation.
Kim will meet with president Dilma Rousseff, with Finance minister Guido Mantega and with Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) president Luciano Coutinho. He will also visit projects in Rio de Janeiro and Bahia, where he should meet with local authorities.
“I am impressed with the economic and social progress reached by Brazil over the last decade. Brazil has been in the vanguard while combining efficient economic policies with opportunities for the most vulnerable citizens, benefiting millions of people,” said Kim, according to a press statement by the World Bank. “At the same time in which we share the accomplishments of Brazil with the world, we are also proud to celebrate with the country the overcoming of its current challenges in terms of education, health and to share prosperity,” he finished off.
