São Paulo – Kepler Weber, a grain storage equipment manufacturing company based in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul, is going to attend Saudi Agrofood, an annual agricultural industry fair in Saudi Arabia, for the first time. This year’s edition will be held from September19 to 22.
According to information supplied by the company’s Marketing department, Kepler Weber should step up its investment in actions to increase sales in Arab countries, because there is a significant demand for the company’s products in the region. Kepler Weber makes products such as silos, driers and grain-cleaning machines.
The company informed that it should increase its focus on the foreign market in general and participate in more fairs in Africa and the Middle East. Presently, the company exports 20% to 30% of its output. Kepler Weber has been involved in projects in countries such as Syria and Egypt. The fair will be attended by the New Markets manager and by the trader in charge of the Arab market.
Saudi Arabia is the leading Arab food and beverage market, accounting for 63% of an industry whose turnover in the Gulf region is US$ 9 billion. Purchases of food and agricultural products represent 15% of the country’s total imports, at US$ 17.3 billion a year.
Saudi Arabia is one of the world’s ten leading rice importers. Concerned with the food security of its population, the Saudi government is investing US$ 12.3 billion in domestic agriculture projects and the purchase of arable land around the world.
