Brasília – The financial market kept stable its forecast for the Extended National Consumer Price Index (IPCA) – Brazil’s official inflation – at 3.95% for this year, the same as last week’s forecast. The estimative is part of the Focus bulletin, a weekly publication released this Monday at the website of the Brazilian Central Bank (BC) that brings forecasts for the main economical indictors.
Four weeks ago, the forecast was slightly higher at 3.96% for 2018. The forecast for the growth of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) also remained stable for 2018 at 2.7%. Four weeks ago, the forecast was at a lower 2.68%.
However, for 2019, there was an increase in the GDP forecast, which went from 2.8%, last week, to 2.99% in the bulletin released today. The forecast for the inflation rate was kept at 4.25%.
