São Paulo – Four new ambassadors were honoured last Tuesday evening (13th) at a dinner in Brasília. Sultan Alkaitoob, from the United Arab Emirates, Khalid Jaradi, from Oman, Hisham Alqahtani, from Saudi Arabia, and Mohammed Alhayki, from Qatar, were received by the Council of Arab ambassadors in Brazil.
“The Council offered a welcoming dinner, during which the excellent between Arab countries and Brazil was highlighted, as well as the potential for improving cooperation between the regions,” said Ibrahim Alzeben, the Palestinian ambassador to Brazil and dean to the Council. The ambassadors honoured have taken their posts between July and October this year.
The event was also attended by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce’s administrative vice president Marcelo Sallum, the director of the Middle East Department of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Carlos Ceglia, the ambassadors of Sudan, Iraq, Mauritania, Kuwait, Algeria, Uruguay and Zimbabwe; and the chargés d’affaires from the embassies of Lebanon, Morocco, Libya, Jordan, Tunisia and Egypt.
