Brasília – Starting on Wednesday (17), Brazilian exports will be recorded on the Internet. The Novoex replaces the Integrated Foreign Trade System (Siscomex), established in 1993.
The main difference of the new system as against the Siscomex is direct access to the Internet, without the need for installation of additional programs on computers. On Novoex, foreign trade transactions will no longer be stored on the Central Bank servers, but will be transferred to the Federal Data Processing Service (Serpro) platforms.
According to the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, the Novoex should allow for more agile exports. The new system also permits the simulation of operations and transmission of loads of records. In case figures are incompatible, the system itself shows divergences after online totalling of the values and quantities.
According to the ministry, it should not be necessary to re-register. All users of the Siscomex are automatically permitted to operate the Novoex, using the same password. This way, as in the current system, only trade operations are registered. Customs operations are still in charge of the Revenue Service.
On the Novoex, traders may record their export records (REs) and the credit records (RCs), in case of exports financed by public or private funds. Those in charge of the credit register in the previous system should use Novoex information. It will not be possible to connect export records to credit records established in different systems. This way, the RCs must be remade for the remaining balance to be used.
