São Paulo – Petrobras, the Brazilian state-owned oil company, announced on this Monday (6th) that its board of directors has approved the floating of a tender for the building of 21 rigs for maritime drilling. The company is going to sign a charter contract with the winning companies and another one with companies specializing in operating equipment of the type.
Companies will be able to submit bids for the building of one or more rigs. They should be built in Brazil and will be used in exploration and production development by Petrobras, according to a statement issued by the company.
The tender, according to the company, is part of a project for the chartering of 28 rigs made in Brazil. Out of those, the commissioning of seven rigs was announced in February this year. They will be used in ultra-deep water drilling.
