São Paulo – Registrations are open for the fifth edition of the biennially held Brazil & Arab Countries Economic Forum. A major hub for Brazilian-Arab relations, the forum will take place on Tuesday, August 25 at the Renaissance Hotel in São Paulo. Participants will be able to watch debates on changes and challenges in the world stage – and their impact on Brazilian-Arab relations – as well as engage in networking. Participation is free of charge.
The forum is hosted by the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, which has been fostering trade between Brazil and the Arab countries for 74 years. Under the theme Global Economy in Transformation – A New Brazil-Arab Countries Agenda, the event will feature authorities, experts, and Brazilian and foreign businesspeople, mostly from Arab countries. They will share their views on energy, geopolitics, industry, food security, agribusiness, fertilizers, trade, logistics, transportation, finance, the digital economy, artificial intelligence, and consumption.
Speakers will include the Brazilian journalist Jamil Chade; the Omani environmental scientist and Hydrom Local Business and Added Value Development head, Rumaitha Al Busaidi; Justin Alexander, the director of consulting firm Khalif Economics director, and an economist with expertise on Arab Gulf countries; and the Brazilian executive Nina Silva, the CEO of Movimento Black Money, and an expert on technology and innovation.
Other panelists will include the Brazilian economist and former special secretary of Strategic Affairs to the Brazilian President’s Office, Hussein Ali Kalout; the head of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Investment and Technology Promotion Office in Bahrain, Hashim Hussein; and the Artificial Intelligence professor at Qatar’s Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Mustafa Jarrar.
Also featured will be the Jordan Chamber of Commerce and Industry president, Khalil Mohammad ElHaj Tawfik; the Union of Arab Chambers secretary general, Khaled Hanafy; the dean of the Council of Arab Ambassadors in Brazil and Moroccan ambassador in Brasília, Nabil Adghoghi; and the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce president, William Adib Dib Junior. The Arab League’s secretary general, Nabil Fahmy, will join the forum via video call.
The forum starts at 8 am with credentialing and wraps up at 7 pm. In addition to the debates, there will be areas for sponsoring brands and networking. Forum goers can attend in person or online, and the panels will be available in Portuguese, Arabic, and English.
