São Paulo – Saudi Arabia has announced the donation of US$ 100 million to Palestine to help reduce the financial crisis the country is living. The value answers to part of the volume that has stopped being transferred by Israel after the Palestinian administration was accepted as a non-member state of the United Nations (UN), in November last year. The information was disclosed on Thursday (17) by television channel Al Jazeera, from Qatar.
The funds should help pay the wages of 150,000 civil servants. According to Al Jazeera, the Palestinian National Authority needs around US$ 240 million a month to cover its expenses. The last payment made to Palestinian civil servants was in November 2012, when they received just half of their wages.
