Brasilia – The Brazilian trade balance registered a US$ 28.804 billion surplus up until the first week of November. These figures were released by the Ministry of Development, Industry, and Foreign Trade, and represent 87.28% of the estimates of the financial market for this year. Forecasts from the Central Bank indicate the country will reach a US$ 33 billion surplus.
Between January and November 7th, exports reached US$ 80.708 billion, with an increase in the average per working day of 32.2%, when compared to January-November 2003. Imports reached US$ 52.904 billion, which represent an increase of 27.9%, by the same comparison.
In the first week of November, Brazil the surplus was of US$ 683 million, where exports reached US$ 1.587 billion and imports reached US$ 904 million. The daily average in relation to the same month last year increased 32.4% in exports and 6% in imports.
In comparison to October, there was a drop in exports daily average of 10.3% and of 22.5% in imports.
