Brasília – Even though it posted a deficit of US$ 127 million in the fifth week of July, the Brazilian trade balance showed a surplus of US$ 1.358 billion during the month, according to data disclosed today (2nd) by the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade.
Last week, imports totalled US$ 3.922 billion, a figure higher than that of exports, which totalled US$ 3.795 billion. In the whole of July, exports (US$ 17.674 billion) were higher than imports (US$ 16.316 billion).
From January until July, exports totalled US$ 106.861 billion and imports, US$ 97.624 billion, resulting in a surplus of US$ 9.237 billion. The figure is 45.07% lower than in the same period of 2009 (US$ 16.818 billion).
