São Paulo – In November, carmakers operating in Brazil had their highest output ever for the month. According to figures disclosed today (6th) by the National Association of Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea), 321,084 units were made, 1.6% more than in October and 10.1% more than in November 2009.
Domestic sales of new vehicles grew by 8.3% over November last year and reached 328,473 units. Compared with November 2009, sales were 30.5% greater. From January until November, the number of new vehicles registered exceeded the total for the same period last year by 10%.
Exports, in turn, had a 6.5% decline in November (US$ 1.2 billion) compared with October (US$ 1.31 billion). So far this year, however, foreign sales were 58.1% higher, in financial volume, than from January to November 2009. In comparison with the same month of last year, exports increased by 37.3%.
