São Paulo – The 19th edition of the International Fair of Agricultural Technology in Action, Agrishow, starts this Monday (30th) in Ribeirão Preto featuring new releases for the agricultural industry. The event will also offer opportunities for Brazilian manufacturers that are willing to export. On Tuesday (1st) and Wednesday (2nd), the 13th International Matchmaking Rounds will take place with buyers from Africa, Central America, and Europe.
The matchmaking rounds are promoted by the Brazilian Machinery Manufacturers Association (Abimaq) through its Brazil Machinery Solutions (BMS) export incentive program. According to a statement from the event’s organizers, the BMS manager Klaus Curt Müller claimed that this year no importers from Latin America were invited because Brazilian manufacturers have already secured their position on the regional market. Now, it is time to enter new markets and maintain those that have been conquered.
Clients from Tanzania, Ukraine, Nicaragua, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Romania and Zimbabwe have confirmed their attendance to the matchmaking rounds. “We have decided to bring buyers from Africa, Europe and Central America so we can help our companies to enter or maintain their presence in those markets,” said Müller.
The 2011 edition of Agrishow generated a business turnover of 1.755 billion reals (US$ 931 million). This year, the exhibition premises will see an increase of 360,000 square metres, 25% more than the last edition. The fair will continue until May 4th.
This year, visitors will see new releases, such as an ethanol-fuelled Embraer aircraft for pulverizing plantations and fighting fires. The aircraft is said to be more efficient and have lower maintenance costs than those fuelled with regular fuel.
The silo maker Granfinale will present a piece of equipment that dries grain at low temperatures and is smoke-free, and Kepler Weber should introduce more energy-efficient vertical and horizontal silos.
