São Paulo – For the fourth consecutive year, the Brazil-Arab News Agency (ANBA) is a finalist in the Internet category of the Massey Ferguson Journalism Prize. The award highlights the best articles about agribusiness in the country, and is promoted by the AGCO group, a manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment, such as tractors, harvesters and implements by Massey Ferguson. The shortlisted ANBA article, written by senior editor Isaura Daniel, is “A new diet for the crop,” which addresses organic fertilizer production in Brazil.
The ANBA and journalist Isaura Daniel won the last three editions of the Massey Ferguson Prize’s Internet category. This year, the agency is running up against the article Usinas mudam a realidade de pequenas cidades em MS (Plants change reality of small cities in state of Mato Grosso do Sul), by journalist Anderson Viegas, from Canal da Cana, based in the state capital Campo Grande, and “Esalq avalia uso do esgoto na irrigação da laranja” (Esalq considers using sewage for orange irrigation), by Antonio Quinto, of Agência USP, based in São Paulo.
The prize also includes television, newspaper, magazine and photojournalism categories. The television category shortlist includes two news stories by TV Globo and one by the Terraviva channel. The shortlist for the newspaper category includes Valor Econômico, Gazeta do Povo and Diário do Nordeste, and the magazine shortlist features IDEANews, Panorama Rural and A Granja. Photographs by O Pioneiro, O Popular and Folha de Londrina newspapers are competing as well. The winners will be announced on August 05, in São Paulo.
