São Paulo – Brazilian beef exports were up 1% in volume year-on-year in January. In the first month of this year, the country shipped 97,394 tons of beef abroad, the Brazilian Meat Companies Association (Abrafrigo) reported this Friday (12).
Revenues dropped 13% to USD 367.4 million. Egypt, the second leading importer of Brazilian beef, reduced its purchases by 14.6% to 17,594 tons. In January 2016, Brazil exported 10,871 tons of beef to Middle East countries.
