Rio de Janeiro – Quarter two saw Brazil produce the most chicken eggs since records started being kept, in 1987. The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) reported 757.51 million dozens produced from April to June, up 5% from Q2 2015.
The growth was driven by increased output in 18 of 25 states surveyed, especially São Paulo, Goiás, Espírito Santo, Ceará and Mato Grosso. São Paulo remains the biggest single egg-producing state in the country.
