Rio de Janeiro – The executive secretary of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, Ivan Ramalho, stated that the production of manufactured products of high technological added value needs the support of an efficient financial system. The statement was made today (25) during the panel "The governmental mechanisms for financing exports and warranty systems," at the last day of the 25th National Foreign Trade Meeting (Enaex).
According to Ramalho, next week the Foreign Trade Secretariat is going to release a study that demonstrates that there already has been an expansion in the exports basket of products with higher added value. "What we want is to ensure all the time more the increase of these products in our exports basket," he assured.
Armando de Carvalho Júnior, director of the Industrial and Foreign Trade areas of the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES), in turn, who spoke just after Ramalho, stated that incentives for exports of products with high technological added value is a priority for the BNDES. "For 15 years we have offered support to Brazilian exports," he emphasised.
In his lecture, Carvalho Júnior highlighted that the bank offers a series of competitive financing lines like the Credit Insurance related to the Export Guarantee Fund (FGE). As an example of the support to exports with high technological added value he mentioned Embraer, Brazilian aircraft manufacturer which, according to him, has exported 900 jets of the family ERJ 145, of which the BNDES financed 467 aircrafts.
