São Paulo – The Brazilian Meat Exporters Association (Abiec) and the Embassy of Brazil in Cairo threw a barbecue last Monday (22) for 150 guests, including Egyptian importers, Brazilian exporters, and government officials from both countries. The information was made public this Wednesday (24) by Abiec.
The event was in Egypt’s capital, the second biggest buyer of Brazilian meat in the world. Last month, for instance, saw Egypt trailing only Hong Kong on the imports list, at 19,300 tons and USD 57 million.
The barbecue at The Nile Ritz-Carlton hotel happened two weeks prior to the Brazilian Festival, a promotional action whereby Brazilian-based enterprises will exhibit their products at Hyper One, an Egyptian hypermarket, as of September 6. An action organized by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, it will feature food, cosmetics, footwear, toiletry and beauty products brands. Brazilian exporters and Egyptian importers will also sit down for business matchmaking sessions.
