Hotel chain Sofitel is going to bring Fatema Hal, one of the best chefs in Moroccan cuisine, to Brazil. She, who owns restaurant La Mansouria, in Paris, is going to show the Moroccan flavours in the city of Guarujá, on the coast of São Paulo state (SE Brazil), and in state capital São Paulo.

College students, retired people, journalists, descendents and those curious about the matter are part of the audience of the course promoted by the Institute of Arab Culture, Icarabe, about the history and geopolitics of the Arab countries. The lessons, which take place every Wednesday, started on August 15th and end on October 03rd. The institute already forecasts a new edition for 2008, as the first edition even had a waiting list.

Student Karine Lima, who studies history at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, is researching the presence of elements from Ancient Egypt in caricatures and cartoons published in the South American press, mainly the Brazilian. The analysis shows that pharaohs and pyramids are much more common in newspapers and sites than imagined.
