Her works were inspired on her stays in Saudi Arabia, Morocco and Egypt. Isabel lived in the three countries with her husband, who is a diplomat.

The Youth Citizenship Network, a project developed by an NGO from Belo Horizonte, capital of the southeastern Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, was one of the winners of the Dubai International Award for Best Practices, promoted by the United Nations (UN) in partnership with the city of Dubai. In the project, youths from Minas Gerais work on radio and television programs, and run means of communication like a newspaper and website turned to the low income population.
